Welcome! This tool will allow you to customize an interactive HTML5 Congress Map very quickly using an Excel-like interface. You can skip any of the steps that aren't relevant to you.
Add a legend or key to your map. Type must be either state or location. Shape can be circle, square, marker, triangle, heart, star, or diamond.
Below are some of the most commonly changed settings. You can change more Settings in the "Code" tab.
You can export the map as a static image (PNG, JPEG, SVG). This is useful if you'd like to display the map in a non-web medium such as a print, PowerPoint, or PDF format.
You can group states together to form regions. Regions can then be used for convenient zooming around the map

Make advanced edits by editing the code directly (see documentation for help). Click on the blue button to push changes to the map. Don't worry about making mistakes! The tool will let you know if there is an error. When editing, CTRL-S or CMD-S will save your changes and update the map.
Visualize data with a heat map! Enter your data, choose a base color, and click "Visualize Data". The tool will vary the intensity of each state's color based on the value of its data point. If #data# is used in the the default description, it will be replaced with state-specific data upon visualization.
