Does the map work on iPhones and iPads?
Yes! It does.
Does the map require jQuery or other dependencies?
No. The map does not use any jQuery and it won't interfere with jQuery or other common libraries you may be using on your page.
Does this map use Adobe Flash?
No, this map replaces the Flash World map that we used to sell. At this point, Flash is a dying technology and we have deprecated our Flash maps.
What browsers are supported?
Chrome, Firefox, Safari 3.2+, iOS Safari 3.2+, Opera, Opera Mobile, Internet Explorer 7+, Android Browser 3+, Android Chrome and more.
Is every country in the world visible on the map?
Because the map is shown at scale and country borders are simplified for speed, some small countries are not visible and are excluded. Our high resolution version contains additional smaller countries. It's also possible to use locations and/or labels to convey information about such countries that are quite small. If you need help with this, feel free to contact us.
Why do you choose the country borders that you do?
Our border data comes from an open source organization with the goal of depicting the situation as it exists on the ground. If you need a map with a different political border, we're happy to work with you. For example, we have created a map for the United Nations to accommodate their official political borders.
Can I change the borders of countries?
Yes, you can. This requires editing the SVG image the map is built upon. If you are technically inclined, follow this tutorial. Or, contact us for a quote.
Do you offer a higher resolution world map?
Yes, learn more about this special version or start customizing it online. Note, the higher resolution version is a larger file and will therefore take a little longer to load. There is no additional cost to use the higher resolution version.
Do you offer a Pacific-centered world map?
Yes, we do. Learn more about our pacific-centered world map. There is no additional cost to use the higher resolution version.
Do you offer a world map that also shows the US states?
Yes, we do. Learn more about our World/US hybrid map. Alternatively, it is possible to link the world map to our US map. There is no additional cost to use the higher resolution version.
